Slamming Spotted Seatrout on Jigs!

Yesterday, I went fishing in 48 degree weather and light rain (not an often occurrence around Hilton Head). I landed Six Nice Trout in the 16" to 22" inch range. Using a mummichog on a small jig head, these bigger trout were hitting these baits hard, I mean really hard! I caught 3 or 4 red fish, and 7 specs, my buddy was fishing a Carolina rig and caught 5 reds and only one trout. Comparably, I did much better with the jig because of the action and of course the bigger fish are more aggressive!

Call me today at 843 422 2930 to book a trip!

Upstate SC Rainbow Trout Fishing

I went on a camping trip to the Chattooga River in upstate South Carolina. Last time we came here, I didnt have the right equipment to catch these soft hitting rainbows. This time I loaded up with 8 Rainbow Trout and my girlfriend caught 3, all in about half the time. I used 4lb test line and 3" pink trout worm. In a group of about 10 fly fishermen with waders, nets, flies, etc. I seemed to hook up just as often with my $25 walmart rig. A great trip and I cant wait to go back again reel soon!

Fishing is great in Hilton Head... Redfish Bite is On!!!

The last week the Redfish bite has been on. Though a busy week overall, i got to put some great people on some good fishing in lower traffic areas thanks to my 22ft Panga Marine. Fishing mostly on the bottom the week with cut mullet has proven successful. Although, once you get a few good fish in one spot, smaller fish are brought in and the big bite seems to shutdown. These folks pictured came aboard early in the morning and were decked out in brand new fishing shirts from Outside. They certainly looked like fishermen in that brand new gear but it was the guide who put these fish in their hands.

Pictured: The Ornoff family with a nice slot Redfish and one that was 29'' long. Mom had the largest one of the day at about 32''.
